Is a contracted researcher at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, NOVA University of Lisbon, developing their research at the CHAM – Centre for the Humanities (since 2019), here she also developed a postdoctoral research funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (2013-2019). She is an architect (2002) and holds an MSc degree (2007) and a PhD degree (2012) from the University of Coimbra. She is an integrated member of the CHAM and a collaborator at the Centre for Inter-university Camonian Studies, based at the General Library of University of Coimbra. She is the co-researcher in charge for the project “PTBUILDS19_20: Portugal Builds – Digital knowledge platform for Portugal Construction History, 19th and 20th centuries” (PTDC/ART-DAQ/28984/2017), and researcher in the project “TechNetEMPIRE: Technoscientific Networks in the construction of the built environment in the Portuguese Empire (1647-1871)” (PTDC/ART-DAQ/31959/2017), both funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. Previously, she was a tutor in the Department of Architecture at the University of Coimbra, supervised the architectural team of the “Architectural and Cultural Heritage Survey of the Coimbra Lower-town” developed under a protocol between the University of Coimbra and the City Hall of Coimbra, and worked at the UNESCO Nomination Office of the University of Coimbra (inscribed in the World Heritage List in 2013). Her main research interests include the history of architecture and urbanism, history of building regulation, construction history, history of urban cartography and urban heritage, encompassing, spatially, the Portuguese territory of the Iberian Peninsula, and, chronologically, the twelfth to the nineteenth centuries. She co-edited, with Terry R. Slater, the book “Building Regulations and Urban Form, 1200-1900” (Routledge 2018), has more than twenty articles and book chapters published, and thirty oral presentations.
