Sara Ventura da Cruz graduated in Architecture by the University of Coimbra (FCTUC, 2005), and took part in the scholarly exchange programme Erasmus in the school year 2001/2001 at Katholieke Universiteit de Leuven (Belgium). After professional experiences in Urban Planning, she has done a Postgraduate in Planning, Urbanism and Environmental Law (CEDOUA-UC, 2009) and is Master in Architecture by the University of Coimbra (FCTUC, 2011) with the thesis “Aveiro, a Avenida: bases para um plano”, on Urban Rehabilitation. Since 2012, is a PhD student in the PhD Programme “Heritages of Portuguese Influence” from the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research (III-UC) and the Centre for Social Studies (CES-UC) of the University of Coimbra, where she is developing her thesis on “Territorial visions of the Portuguese Enlightenment in Southern Africa”, with a doctoral scholarship from Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
